Objectives:

  • To build an Ecosystem consisting of three clusters of PLs (concrete, conventional ceramics and advanced ceramics cluster)
  • To integrate monitoring process and quality control systems to increase the robustness of the industrial processes aimed at advanced and multifunctional ceramic and concrete materials and structures
  • To upgrade the existing Pilot Lines through integrating peripheral systems (ultrasonic mixing, advanced agitation technologies, and dispersant additives), in order to enhance the uniformity of NPs dispersion, avoid agglomerations and offer flexibility for a large variety of lightweight multifunctional materials.
  • To fine tune cross-sectorial services before the validation step.

Objectives:

  • Production of lightweight valve for high vacuum applications from MAX phases with spark plasma sintering pilot line
  • Manufacturing of lightweight Thermal Protection System for leading edges and nose-cones of re-entry vehicles through Agglomeration-Cold Compaction-SPS (ACSPS) technology
  • To invite additional test cases during the open call for advanced ceramics under the LightCoce ecosystem

Objectives:

  • To test the material characteristics of all LightCoce materials, components and structures
  • Provide with appropriate testing of nanomaterials that will be produced towards verification of their properties, evaluation of production technique and optimize the synthesis parameters
  • To perform Design Verification Tests and validation measurements on the pilot lines and on integrated characterisation equipment to ensure high quality production steering parameters for the pilot production
  • To establish and ensure a common level of knowledge among Universities, Testing Laboratories and units of the pilot lines.
  • To further develop and adjust the characterisation techniques for the new materials as a pre-requisite to standardization of measurement methods and products

Objectives:

  • To develop models of the manufacturing processes to integrate the information from material modelling in the targeted industrial process
  • To develop a monitoring and optimisation platform
  • Maximise the impact of LightCoce ecosystem services through the development of decision support tools to help in the decision-making for the implementation/upgrading of manufacturing processes
  • To develop an accurate toolset for materials modelling reducing testing and the trial and error process.
  • To conduct predictive modelling of functional properties of materials.
  • To optimize materials parameters and evaluate uncertainties in modelling.
  • To conduct Energy and Exergy analysis of the systems to improve the flexibility and optimisation of the ecosystem.
